Each chain martingale collar is made from our waterproof soft-grip strap, which is odor proof and can withstand both high and low temperatures. We use a stainless steel nameplate and D-ring. Due to the current metal shortage, all other hardware is nickel plated. This martingale collar also includes a nickel-plated steel chain loop and metal prong buckle for making size adjustments. We don't recommend exposing the nickel plating to chlorine or saltwater, so freshwater use is recommended.

Martingale Collar Sizing Tips

Our martingale chain collars are sized based on the neck measurements when the martingale loop is fully extended. The collars themselves are also adjustable with 5 different holes for the buckle, so you have a range of neck sizes you can set the collar up for.

For example, if the size range is 16-20 inches, the collar will open up to 20 inches when fully extended and tighten down to 16 inches. When using a martingale, you want the collar to fit the dog comfortably with some slack when the dog isn't pulling and the martingale loop is fully extended, so that if the dog pulls, the collar will tighten to a firm, but not choking size.

For the best sizing, measure your dog's neck comfortably (not too tight) and pick the size range in which your dog's neck size fits comfortably.
